Author Spotlight with Shane Halbach

Shane Halbach lives in Chicago with his wife and two kids, where he writes software by day and avoids writing stories by night. He has been accused of obsession with pirates, bacon, zombies, and his kids (not necessarily in that order). He’s a knitter, guitar player, and budding accordionista, and his fiction has appeared on Escape Pod, Redstone SF, Daily Science Fiction, and elsewhere. He has been blogging regularly at shanehalbach.com since 2004, and can be found on Twitter @shanehalbach.

Grant My Powder Be Dry and My Aim Be True by Shane Halbach can be found in Anthology I: A Collection of 8 Science Fiction & Fantasy Short Stories. It's a fantasy story about a man discovering himself, and challenging a god in the process.

Author Spotlight with Ernesto Pavan

Ernesto Pavan is a fiction translator, a writer and an Italian who loves curries and sushi. He sold a couple short stories on various magazines and is currently editing his first novel, a horror/slice of life story with lesbian snarky zombies (no kidding). When he’s not working or writing, you can find him playing online games or reading a good book. He lives with his girlfriend and a puppy dog, who’s either the smartest pet alive or possessed by the Devil. More on Twitter @ErnestoPavan and www.indiebooktranslations.com.

A Wand's Tale by Ernesto Pavan can be found in Anthology I: A Collection of 8 Science Fiction & Fantasy Short Stories. It's a fantasy story about the brief life of a magic wand, and the powerful impact it has on the life of the troubled girl who comes to wield it.

Gifting an eBook for the Holidays

Try ebooks this year as a gift for travelers, commuters, book club members, coworkers, teachers . . . or any book lover!

Many e-bookstores allow you to gift an ebook. It’s easy to make the ebook a more tangible gift by printing the book cover on card stock or photo paper and including the details on how to redeem it. An ebook is perfect for a stocking stuffer or a little something extra to go in a card, along with a baked good or small gift. Ebooks are an inexpensive, easy, and thoughtful gift for all occasions!

This year I'm giving my dad, the guy who has everything, M.C. Tuggle's adventure, fantasy novella, Aztec Midnight. I’m sure he’ll love it!
